Mississippi Sports Betting Revenue Soars in May

Mississippi’s sports wagering income reached a peak of $3.9 million in May, a dramatic increase from the previous year. This surge is attributed to the fact that casinos and sportsbooks were shuttered for a significant portion of May 2020 due to the pandemic. This year, with all establishments open, sports betting revenue saw a staggering 4,333.8% increase compared to the previous year. The total amount wagered, or the handle, also skyrocketed by 15,175.0% to $36.1 million.

However, revenue experienced a slight decline compared to April of this year, which generated $4.3 million in income.
