12.06.2024
The Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) has designated a new Head to oversee its Board of Directors, tapping Dave Forestell for the position.
Forestell has served on the Board since 2018 and progressively climbed the ladder. Of note, he has spearheaded iGaming Ontario, a branch of the AGCO, since 2021. To devote his complete focus to his latest duties, Forestell will be vacating his role at iGaming Ontario. The quest for his successor is presently in motion.
Beyond his contributions to the AGCO, Forestell also lends his time and knowledge to the Ontario College of Art and Design as a member of their Governing Board.
Forestell’s selection arrives as he assumes control from Lalit Aggarwal, who recently declared her choice to depart. Aggarwal conveyed her wish to prioritize family and explore other business ventures.
Forestell brings extensive experience, having held senior management roles within government and public service. His path commenced in 2008 with the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party, where he functioned as a Vice President for two years. Subsequently, he acted as a Policy Advisor and Personnel Director in the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa from 2009 to 2012. He then moved to the Conservative Party of Canada, serving as both Acting Executive Director and Senior Advisor to the Leader from 2013 to 2015.
Mr. Forestell held the position of Vice President at Barrick Gold Corporation for four years, from 2014 to 2018. During this time, he also held a short-term appointment as Chairman of the Board for Casale Mining, spanning from 2015 to 2017.
His tenure at Scotiabank began in 2018 as Deputy to the CEO. In 2021, he ascended to the role of Vice President, a position he maintained until 2022.
Following his departure from Scotiabank, he assumed the role of Vice President of Canadian External Relations at TC Energy in 2022. Subsequently, he transitioned from that position to take on his present role as Chairman of AGCO.
