1X2 Network Partners with Skywind Group to Expand in the Romanian iGaming Market
12.06.2024
The 1X2 Network is broadening its presence in the Romanian market through a new collaboration with the Skywind Group. Through this agreement, well-loved games such as Plinko Go, Smoking Hot Fruits, and Maverick will be featured on prominent Romanian internet casinos like Princess Casino, Cashpot, and Luck. This is merely the most recent in a series of comparable arrangements Skywind has established with other game creators as it aims to leverage Romania’s rapidly expanding online gaming sector. Undoubtedly, Romania is transforming into a hub for online gaming, with businesses such as Thunderkick, Octoplay, BGaming, and Imagine Live all making recent ventures there. Don’t miss the February issue of Trafficology magazine for a more in-depth exploration of this dynamic market.
Ana-Maria Baciu, a legal expert specializing in intellectual property and an active participant in the Romanian National Association of Intellectual Property Lawyers, highlighted Romania’s status as a bustling hub for the iGaming sector. Starting in 2016, Romanian regulatory bodies have issued approximately 475 Class 2 permits to a range of operators. Among these, roughly 140-150 permits were allocated to software and game developers, with around 25 granted in 2023 alone. This illustrates the ongoing expansion of the market, even considering the licensing cost modifications implemented in October 2023.
This expansion is drawing in significant industry participants. Christopher Reed, Account Manager at 1X2 Network, discussed their recent alliance with Skywind Group, noting that this collaboration will provide them entry to some of Romania’s most favored online platforms. Skywind already collaborates with top-tier developers in the field, and now they can incorporate 1X2 Network’s cutting-edge slots and games into their offerings. Reed stressed the significance of the Romanian market for 1X2 Network since securing their Romanian license in 2022 and views the Skywind Group partnership as a crucial move in broadening their footprint within the region.
